Sabah has a new Oil Palm Biomass Industry Policy

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor informed on 7 February 2024 that the State Cabinet has approved the Oil Palm Biomass Industry policy. Hajiji said the Cabinet has also imposed a State Sales Tax on biomass export pending the implementation of the policy. A Sabah Oil Palm Biomass law would be enacted to regulate the industry within two years, pending the POIC Sabah Biomass Collection Platform to be operational.
