JKKK’s Roles and Responsibilities
Village Development and Security Committees (Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung or JKKKs) are transformation agents and representatives of the government. Their influences and responsibilities are critical. Hajiji spoke at the ceremony to present appointment letters to JKKK chairmen and committee members for Sulaman and Pantai Dalit on 14 February 2024 at the Dewan Seri Sulaman, Tuaran.
"JKKKs must ensure that the people are not negatively influenced by fake news created by the Opposition to sow discord and disrupt stability. You must also foster greater unity among the multi-racial people; and disseminate information accurately and especially information which are related to the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya initiatives."
Hajiji reminded JKKKs to continue their efforts in implementing programmes and projects in their community; and to be proactive in their strategic planning. The JKKK institution is an important machinery since its inception in 1962, highlighting community leadership and village governance efficiency.
Every village committee has 11 bureaus including: Amenity Development; Security and Health; Financial Management; Economy and Entrepreneurship; Prosperity and Happiness; Education and Innovation; Welfare and Voluntarism and Women and Family Affairs.
