Plugging the Brain Drain Leakage

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor met with Steven Sim, Federal Minister of Human Resources, on 6 September 2024 at Sri Gaya, Kota Kinabalu. Among the issues discussed between them were the brain drain and the setting up of a social security rehabilitation centre.

Sabah has seen many local talents leaving the state and working overseas. Sim told Hajiji that the Ministry - through HRD Corp - will help the state to lure Sabahan talents from overseas to return home and will help to address the brain drain issue.

The two leaders also discussed the possibility of the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) setting up a rehabilitation centre for its contributors in Sabah.
