Government’s Continuous Push for Development and Prosperity
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor thanked Sabahans for the continuous support to the GRS-PH Government. “Let's unite in solidarity, prioritising unity for political stability in Sabah," he said on 31 December 2024, in his New Year message. “Let us look ahead to the new year for a renewed commitment to continue our success stories and development objectives. The year 2025 will be a year for us to be assertive and to push our goals for the people's wellbeing."
Year 2024 has been a good year for Sabah. Its revenue collection has reached RM7 billion and it has secured RM1.7 billion in foreign and domestic investments. In human capital investment, the state has increased funding for scholarship and student aids to RM127 million for 2025. Under the Rumah Mesra Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) initiative for low-income families in all 73 state constituencies, the government has built 5,000 houses, and another will be completed by 2025 at the cost of RM250 million.
For energy initiatives, the State Government has enforced sustainable long-term solution for a mixed renewable energy source through the hydroelectric dams such as at Ulu Padas, Tenom; among others. The Collaboration Agreement (CCA) with Petronas in 2022 has brought about remarkable growth. Strategic investments in oil and gas projects including the Samarang PSC, the LNG9 Project and the SAMUR complex has generated revenue of RM2 billion for the state. “The State Government remains committed to ensuring political stability and continued economic growth and development for Sabah, the Chief Minister said.
