Outgoing TYT Tun Juhar’s 14 years of Excellent Service

Tun Juhar Mahiruddin’s term as Sabah Head of State expires on 1 January 2025 and he is succeeded by former Chief Minister Tun Datuk Musa bin Haji Aman. After 14 years as TYT, Tun Juhar is the longest-serving Head of State. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that Tun Juhar, the 10th Head of State, has done well for Sabah. Among the significant incidents during Tun Juhar's tenure were the Tanduo incursion in 2013 and the COVID-19 pandemic that from 2019 until 2022.

“Both incidents have thrown the people of Sabah into challenging situations. Many lives have were lost. Alhamdullilah, under the Sabah Head of State as patron, we have succeeded in overcoming these challenges. The people of Sabah regardless have always demonstrated their love and care to His Excellency Tun and his wife Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Norlidah Tan Sri R M Jasni,” Hajiji said at a state banquet on 30 December 2024, honouring Tun Juhar at the Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu. "The people of Sabah thanked Tun Juhar for his leadership during his 14-year rule and wished him and Toh Puan Norlidah well in their endeavours.”
