Highest Ever RM70 million Grant for Chinese, Missionary Schools and Religious Places, 2025
Sabah celebrates diversity regardless of race, religion and culture. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor launched the Chinese New Year Carnival at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu on 24 January 2025, during which he that the Chinese New Year is celebrated by the Chinese community and participated by other communities of different race and beliefs in Sabah. "We celebrate each other's festivals which has greatly galvanised unity among the multi-racial and multi-religious people in the state," Hajiji said.
“We are pleased that the Chinese community in Sabah has strongly supported the State Government in ensuring that the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya development agenda proceeds smoothly.” The State Government's is committed to supporting all the people's programmes without prejudice. This year, the State Government has allocated RM70 million, the highest ever for Chinese and missionary schools and religious houses of worship, Hajiji said.
"We must stay united and protect our peace, harmony and political stability to ensure Sabah's progress and development," the CM said. “The State Government's achievement in collecting RM7 billion in revenue and attracting RM1.7 billion in domestic and foreign investments in 2024 was a result of political stability and good governance.”
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Panglima Christina Liew, delivered the CM’s speech.
