State Government Express Condolences to Catholics

In expressing his condolence to the Catholic Community in Sabah, on the passing of Pope Francis in Vatican, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that Pope Francis’s passing is a great loss to Catholics not only in Malaysia but globally.

“The world mourns the passing of a truly noble spiritual leader known for his humility, compassion and wisdom. On behalf of the State Government and the people of Sabah, I extend our heartfelt condolences to all Catholics in this moments of grief,” Hajiji said on 22 April 2025.

Pope Francis, aged 88, passed away on 21 April 2025.
