The Sabah government will replace the Native Court Enactment 1992 with a new version in 2025 to streamline court operations and strengthen the institution, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor announced. The draft, currently under review, aims to ensure the court remains effective and relevant.

Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Kaamatan Festival, Hajiji also highlighted the state’s efforts to improve food self-sufficiency, including reviving the Sabah Rice and Rice Board and developing over 22,000 hectares of idle padi fields. The goal is to raise Sabah’s food SSL from 22.8% to 30% by 2026 and 60% by 2030.

He also introduced the Rural Agricultural Economic Revolution Program (REPLB) to empower low-income rural communities through modern farming, innovation, and expanded market access. The initiative is expected to drive economic growth, create jobs, and promote social unity.

Hajiji emphasized the inclusive theme of this year’s Kaamatan – Kaamatan For All – as a symbol of harmony and cultural celebration, aligning with the values of Malaysia Madani.
