St Joseph Church and Marahang Hall, Papar, Get RM5 Million; Gana community Gets Land

Hajiji Haji Noor symbolically harvesting padi stalks or mongomot at the kaamatan even[; and pouring the harvested padi into the Tangkob (padi storage) to mark the opening of the Papar Pesta Kaamatan.

During a visit to Papar on 17 May 2025, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor approved a total of RM5 million for the construction of a new hall for St Joseph Church, Limbahau; and an additional RM1 million allocation to upgrade the infrastructure around the multi-purpose hall at Kampung Marahang, Limbahau.

Hajiji - who is also chairman of the Yayasan Sabah Board of Trustees - said he has also agreed to allocate part of the land belonging to Yayasan Sabah for the people in Kampung Gana and its vicinity. Hajiji spoke of the allocations during at the Papar Pesta Kaamatan event at Kampung Marahang.

"This is a government for all people of Sabah. We care for the rakyat. We give development to all irrespective of race and religion,” Hajiji said. “For the Pesta Kaamatan celebration, it is a platform for the people to foster greater relationships among the multi-racial people in Sabah.”
