13MP Development Programmes Align with Halatuju SMJ
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) – which was debated in Parliament on 31 July 2025 - strongly aligned with the state's development blueprint, the Halatuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ). "It is a clear indication of federal support to Sabah under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," Hajiji said on 31 July 2025. “The State Government welcome development programmes and fundings for Sabah under the 13MP including expansion of critical utilities (water, sewerage, transmission), strategic infrastructure (roads, flood mitigation, health) and the Blue Economy Hub. The present State Government has set up the Halatuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan to ensure that Sabah continues to progress.” The 13MP also include other high-impact initiatives such as intensive poverty alleviation strategies and support for digital transformation and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) resilience. The Federal Government will also prioritise the Sabah-Sarawak Kalimantan Road network which augers well with the shifting of Indonesia's capital to Nusantara in East Kalimantan, Borneo.
