Government Continues Consistent Efforts to Support and Promote Islamic Teachings

The State Government has consistently supported and promoted the growth and development of Islamic teachings through the Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS), the Sabah Islamic Council (MUIS), and several NGOs, such as the United Sabah Islamic Association (USIA) and the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (ABIM). The State Government will not compromise on matters of faith (aqidah), development and the well-being of the ummah, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, said in his speech when officiating the Du’at Convention on 26 August 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu.

The State Government has allocated substantial funding to upgrade mosque and surau infrastructure in Sabah and has provided training and human capital development for du'at. "We will continue to champion the agenda of empowering dakwah and advancing Islamic development in line with current needs and demands, Hajiji said.

"This includes digital dakwah transformation and the placement of integrated preachers in rural and island areas, and special MADANI youth programmes to nurture capable young preachers.” At the event, Hajiji presented appointment letters to District Imams and announced increase in monthly allowances for District Imams, by RM1,000; and KAFA teachers and Rawatib Imams’ by RM200; and one-off special allowance of RM500 each for Takmir teachers.
