Critical Role of Women in Society

Women play a critical role in society, and under the tenure of the GRS Government, it has been clear that women’s welfare and needs have not been neglected. "We appreciate the role of women, and we appreciate their role in the state's development,” Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said during a presentation event of kitchen wares and equipment to 1,000 housewives on 1 September 2025 at Tuaran.

“Our priority is always people-first.” Hajiji, who is Sulaman Assemblyman, said that he is confident of women's support, particularly in Sulaman which will significantly determine the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) victory in the upcoming state election. Hajiji is also confident that with the people’s support, he can retain the Sulaman seat in the coming state election. Hajiji said he can count on the support of the womenfolk and with their hard work, he is confident of a GRS victory.

The GRS Government rolled out the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya development plan four years ago. The development plan has brought tremendous success in Sabah’s economic development. The development plan has revived the state's economy, which was adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic between 2020-2022.

The GRS State Government continued to roll out many more initiatives including the RM300 monthly assistance under the SYUKUR programme for 100,000 poor and hardcore poor Sabahans; RM1.4 billion to help 70,000 people in need; RM1.33 billion for education and human capital; built houses and give them to the needy. Helping the people of Sabah is a great source of satisfaction for the GRS government, Hajiji added.
