The State Government values collaboration with industry stakeholders whose support has enabled wider trade facilitation, market expansion and business development for local entrepreneurs. The Government recognises business events as a catalyst for economic activity and trade connectivity. The Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) hosted the 3rd annual BigSABAH Sale, a business and retail event, for brands in fashion, food, home, and technology.

The event has gained popularity as a credible avenue for businesses to market their brands and especially for businesses in the East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) to launch their products, generate sales and build consumer trust in one of Southeast Asia’s robust commercial robust regions. Thirteen countries — Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan — participated in the 2025’s BigSabah Sale from 31 October 2025 to 1 November 2025 at SICC. The BigSabah Sale was launched by SICC in 2023 to provide a platform for local businesses to gain international exposure. The success of the first edition led to expansion to include international businesses.

The editions grew in scale and impact which earned national recognition in 2024 when it was awarded the Consumer Exhibition Excellence Award (5,001–10,000 sq metre) at the Malaysian Business Events Awards (MBEA). The event has evolved from just shopping into a platform where 300 vendors showcased products and services. Hajiji believes that the local retail sectors benefit from exposure to international logistics for agriculture, retail, technology, and manufacturing. The exposure also strengthens local supply chains and talent growth.

" The presence of international exhibitors and buyers enhances Sabah's economic integration with BIMP-EAGA and the Asia Pacific corridor. The success of BigSabah Sale highlights the importance of enterprise participation, industry collaboration, and regional cooperation as key drivers of sustainable growth, " said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, in a message at the opening ceremony of the BigSabah Sale on 1 November 2025, at SICC,

Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, State Minister of Finance, delivered Hajiji’s message.
