Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will continue to focus on development programmes under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan, which was launched in 2021, and which has achieved impressive results including restoring the economy post Covid pandemic in 2020.

“We give monthly financial aid to low-income citizens and provide SMJ homes, which we will increase (SMJ houses) for the people. We focus on helping our people, while others, and especially the Opposition parties, lie, slander, and make promises without results,” Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said on 6 November 2025 at Menumbok during the Launch of the Kuala Penyu and Menumbok Sub-District Strategic Development Plan 2025 – 2035.

The launching of the district’s development plan coincided with the handover ceremony for the Sabah Maju Jaya houses; the opening of the RM3.26 million Nur Ihsan Mosque Menumbok; the handover of land gazetted; and presentation of aid by the Limus Jury Foundation which has assisted 5,350 students in Kuala Penyu and Menumbok through various educational support initiatives.

The GRS administration has achieved what previous governments did not, including attracting many local and foreign investors who have invested in various sectors. Hajiji also said that the GRS Government has spent RM1.3 billion over the past five years on the education sector including scholarship programmes. Hajij, who is also GRS Chairman, said that the Opposition parties attack the GRS government with unfounded accusations.

“They were the previous government, and we inherited the problems from them: the water, road and electricity, Hajiji said. “It would be a loss if the people choose them instead of re-electing GRS. “Give us a new mandate and we will drive more robust development under the SMJ 2.0 for Sabah. The first phase of SMJ 1.0 (2021–2025) has been successfully implemented, but there is still much more to be done to ensure continued development. A renewed mandate will see continued progress and stability.”

Hajiji said that the Kuala Penyu and Menumbok Sub-District Strategic Development Plan 2025– 2035 is aligned with the SMJ development agenda for the people in both districts. Hajiji handed over three native residential land gazettes involving Kampung Mansud (6.268 hectares), Kampung Purun (13.740 hectares), and Kampung Tanjung Aru (24.339 hectares).
