Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Group General Managers (GGMs) and General Managers (GMs) of government-linked companies (GLCs) and statutory bodies are required to submit written performance reports every quarter, starting next year, 2026. The reports must be submitted directly to the Chief Minister.

“We must now closely monitor the performance of every entity,” Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said after chairing the State Cabinet meeting on 10 December 2026 in Kota Kinabalu.

“Every CEO, GGM and GM must be responsible, to contribute to Sabah’s progress. The Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 agenda must be implemented effectively for the people of Sabah.” The new requirement of submitting reports every three months is to ensure that the Government receives timely and accurate information on projects, financial health, service delivery and the overall performance of each organisation.

Any CEO, GGM or GM who fails to submit his or her reports, or do not achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or show unsatisfactory performance will be reassigned or terminated. GLCs and statutory bodies must maintain financial integrity, transparent governance and accountability, regardless of whether they are focussed on commercial returns or on service delivery, Hajiji added.
