Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said there is no basis for any attempt to revive Manila’s claim on Sabah. He stressed that Sabah is a sovereign state within the Federation of Malaysia and should not be disputed, nor should current issues be used to justify reviving outdated claims.

“There is no need to turn this into an issue or use the current energy situation as a pretext to resurrect old claims,” he said at the State-level Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on March 28, 2026.

About 20,000 people attended the event, which was graced by Head of State Tun Musa Aman and his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, alongside the Chief Minister and his wife Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Juliah Salag.
