Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor calls for increased leadership in and empowerment for women in education, and entrepreneurship.

“We always look forward to women actively involved in the economic, education and leadership fields including those programmes initiated by the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council,” he said during a meeting with a delegation from MPWS (Majlis Penasihat Wanita Sabah) delegation on 21 April 2026 at Menara Kinabalu.

Hajiji noted that MPWS have joint programmes with various agencies, particularly with the Sabah Women's Affairs Department (Jabatan Hal Ehwal Wanita Sabah or JHEWA), to advocate for women's empowerment.

Datuk Dr Hajah Rosmawati Haji Lasuki, MPWS’ Chairperson, who led the delegation, said that the Global Women @ Sabah (Glow@Sabah) leadership programme continues to play a lead role in identifying capable women leaders and nurturing them. MPWS will host the State Women’s Day celebration on 9 September 2026.
