Engineering Profession and Industry’s Role in Development

The engineering profession is one of the corner stones in Sabah’s development progress. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that the engineering industry has helped the State to achieve the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 development agenda.
Hajiji said that the Institution of Engineers Malaysia, Sabah branch’s (IEM Sabah) has assisted the State Government in transforming the SMJ vision. Hajiji met with a delegation from IEM Sabah on 21 April 2026 Menara Kinabalu.
Datuk Ir Ts Mohd Yaakob, IEM’s Chairman, thanked the State Government for its contribution and support to its programmes, and especially the Conference of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO) held in October 2024 in Kota Kinabalu.
