SYUKUR Allocation Increased to RM339 million

The State Government is continuing the cash-aid program and has Increased the number of recipients from 100,000 to 140,000. The government has allocated RM339.16 million for programme - Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat or SYUKUR, one of Sabah’s government initiatives to eradicate poverty. The cash assistance scheme gives RM200 per month to eligible recipient. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the SYUKUR programme complements the Federal Government’s similar initiatives, namely the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA). SYUKUR payments will be made in phases, via recipients' bank accounts, and also via cash pay outs.


“The SYUKUR programme has been restructured to accommodate the increase in number of recipients from 100,000 in 2025 to 140,000 in 2026. The cash distribution will commence on 18 June 2026 for 17,848 recipients. This payment is RM600 covering the period from April to June 2026,” Hajiji said at the launch of the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (SYUKUR) Outreach Programme for the Tuaran district on 16 June 2026 at Dewan Sri Sulaman, Tuaran.
