Sabah Appoints New State Secretary

Datuk Zainudin Aman, Director General of the State Public Service Department, will be Sabah’s new State Secretary. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor presented the appointment letter to Datuk Zainudin on 25 June 2026. Datuk Zainudin takes over from Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor and Sr Safar Untong on 29 June 2026.

Hajiji said he believes that Zainudin will ensure that the state civil service remains progressive and competitive in driving the state’s administrative transformation toward sustained progress and excellence. Safar retires on 28 June 2026 and will be the new chairman of the Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAED), a government-linked company.
