District Officers ensure that official policies, programmes and projects are implemented. They are expected to be responsive, proactive and integrity driven.

“Advances in technology, changes in the global economy, social changes and rising public expectations of government services require us to continuously improve,” Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said at the 29th Sabah District Officers’ Conference on 17 August 2026 at Keningau.

“Government administration must be more efficient, responsive and centred on the needs of the people. We must adopt new approaches within legal boundaries.” District Officers have responsibly pursuing Sabah’s development agenda through Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0, ensuring policy continuity and administrative stability, the CM said.

“We must have coordination, implementation discipline and commitment to ensure that projects and plans deliver benefits to the people,” Hajiji said. “If there are problems in implementation, we must act quickly. If there are coordination issues, we must rapidly find solutions. Our goal for every project and program is to deliver benefits to the people within a specific timeframe.” This year’s conference theme is “Driving Innovation, Empowering Communities.”
