Anwar meeting with Hajiji and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg upon arrival at Bandar Seri Begawan

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor accompanied Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to the 27th Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC-27) meeting between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam on 22 August 2026 held at Istana Nurul Iman, Brunei.

Anwar (seventh left) and the Malaysian entourage including Hajiji (fifth left) with the Sultan of Brunei (sixth right) and Brunei government senior officials.

Hajiji also attended the ALC-27 pre-council meeting at the Empire Hotel, Brunei. Prime Minister Anwar chaired the meeting on 21 August 2026. Anwar and His Majesty and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Muiz'zaddin Wad'daulah had a four-eyed meeting after the ALC-27.

Both countries signed several Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Bilateral Instruments.
