Slanderous Act Against Innocent People

In politics or in life, we get emotional. Some people resort to lies.

Last week in January 2024, an irresponsible person or group of persons went overboard by posting a photo of Mohammad Reza with an accompanying story, alleging involvement in illegal drugs activities. Mohammad Reza is the son of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. Cleary, the allegations are slanderous and a blasphemy.

The posting of untruths to influence public opinion is clearly an act of character assassination. It is a desperate act of attempting to damage or tarnish a person’s reputation; and to smear a family’s name. It is a despicable act to stoop so low and hiding behind anonymity to post untruths in social media platforms.

Mohammad Reza has, rightly, lodged a police report refuting and denying claims that he has anything to do with a drug cartel. The public calls also for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), to act on this case.
