The words of wisdom from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor on 30 August 2025, the eve of two significant events, have drawn Sabahans to a greater sense of appreciation and unity. “On 31 August, we celebrate the National Day and Sabah Day, two commemorations that serve as a unifying factor for all Malaysians from diverse backgrounds,” Hajiji said in his Sabah Day and National Day 2025 message.

“The National Day 2025 theme "Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni" and the Sabah Day 2025 theme "Untukmu Sabah Tanah Airku" highlight a shared message rooted in the principles of Madani and the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan.” Hajiji said he is touched by Sabahans’ spirit of patriotism and harmony among the diverse races and religions in the state.

The dual celebrations provide the opportunity to reflect on history, strengthen identity and nurture love for the state, and to remember and honour the sacrifices of the nation's freedom fighters, Hajiji added. "Let us remain vigilant against any negative elements that could undermine harmony and unity," he said.
