Sabah is proud that many of its government-linked companies (GLCs) have actively assisted those people in need, and especially the people who are classified in the B40 economic group. The most recent GLC to do so was Sabah Electricity who sponsored prescription eyeglasses / spectacles to school children on 25 January 2025 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The event was held at SK Tamparuli. In his speech, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that the Sabah Maju Jaya 1.0 development plan has implemented various initiatives - including school assistance and scholarships - to boost education standard in Sabah.

“The State Government will ensure that no children are left behind in accessing educational opportunities, Hajiji said." The various educational assistance initiatives will continue under the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 development plan. GLCs have the obligation to assist the rakyat in endeavours and initiatives that have significant impact, that are focused oriented and that are sustainable, particularly in empowering education, welfare and the development of human capital through a holistic approach that balances operational performance, financial sustainability and social responsibility.
