Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that the successful implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) economic development plan over the past five years has benefitted Sabah. The SMJ development plan requires changes to enhance capabilities and creating new value, Hajiji said.

“The State Government remains committed to carrying out a wide range of comprehensive development initiatives,” Hajiji said at a state banquet on 30 March 2026 in conjunction with the 75th official birthday celebration of the Head of State at the banquet hall of the State Legislative Assembly.

“We will continue to bring further improvement to our infrastructure development, healthcare, education, safety and other facilities for the people. The continuation of managing Sabah for a second term in November 2025, brings a holistic development agenda based on Hala Tuju SMJ 2.0 to bring the state to greater heights. We are confident of boosting investment, strengthening economic competitiveness and creating a conducive environment for sustainable development.”

Hajiji said that Sabah appreciates the leadership, wisdom and patronage of the Head of State, who is a symbol of unity, stability and harmony for the people of Sabah.
