Chief Minister Celebrates Aidilfitri with Media Groups

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri dinner with members of media groups on 4 April 2026 at the Magellan Sutera Resort, Kota Kinabalu. Datuk Lucy Irene Yong – Director of Media and Communications in the Chief Minister’s Department - in her welcoming remarks on behalf of the Chief Minister, expressed appreciation for the commitment and dedication of media practitioners in disseminating information to the public. “We appreciate the role of the media in explaining government policies and conveying the people’s voices to the authorities for action,” Lucy said.

“In an era of information overload, effective media must disseminate verified news.” The Media and Communications Office will continue to ensure that all reports and news related to the State Government and the Chief Minister are shared promptly and accurately with the media, Lucy added. A total of 200 media representatives attended the event including Mariah Doksil, President of the Sabah Journalists Association; and Datuk Jimmy Goh, President of the Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association. Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister; Datuk Ghulam Khan Bahadar, Director of Yayasan Sabah Group; and heads of departments, were also present.
