Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor delivered a strong and inviting message to engineers: Engineers are nation builders, solution architects, and strategic partners in governance. They are expected to be the driver in innovation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0), to advance digital engineering, smart infrastructure, and green technologies to position Sabah for the future economy.

"Through the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 (SMJ 2.0) roadmap, the State Government has set a bold and transformative agenda with clear priorities - strengthen infrastructure connectivity, accelerate industrial and economic growth, ensure sustainable resource management and empower high-quality human capital. We cannot achieve this alone. We need your cooperation and efforts. The State Government sees IEM Sabah not just as a professional body, but as a strategic partner in development. This partnership must be strengthened with greater purpose and impact,” Hajiji said at the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Sabah 51st Anniversary Dinner on 14 June 2026 at the Magellan Sutera Resort, Kota Kinabalu.

IEM Sabah is expected to nurture young engineers to be future nation builders, accelerating the development of local engineers toward Professional Engineer (PE) status and building a strong and self-reliant engineering workforce for Sabah, Hajiji added. "Through professionalism and integrity, IEM Sabah will elevate engineers as trusted pillars of society. This is not merely collaboration, it is a shared mission to build Sabah's future," Hajiji said. "IEM Sabah will pursue a more active role in collaborating with the State Government to ensure the highest standards in project quality, safety, and sustainability.
