Media as Partners in Government Communication

The State Government appreciates the role of journalists as strategic partners in communicating government policies and development achievements to the people, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said on 13 June 2026. Media personnel work tirelessly, pursue stories and ensure accurate reporting. The government has increased its sponsorship from RM100,000 in 2024 to RM110,000 in 2025 and 2026.

“They work around the clock, brave the weather and deliver their reports efficiently and accurately. The State Government continues to support the media industry through financial sponsorship for hosting the KPA. The State Government values and recognises the contributions of journalists and supports excellence in the media industry. News reporting, particularly on the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan, has been carried out commendably,” Hajiji said on 13 June 2026 in conjunction with the Kinabalu Press Awards (KPA) 2026 in Kota Kinabalu.
