Unity is the Foundation of Stability

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that the world is witnessing a growing wave of geopolitical turmoil that is increasingly shaking global stability and unity. In many countries, wars, economic crises, and political conflicts have impacted peace and unity, the CM said. Therefore, the people of Sabah must continue to strengthen unity, uphold the spirit of mutual respect and support every effort that contributes to the nation's progress. Unity must not be just a slogan, but it must always be the foundation of political stability and economic prosperity, Hajiji added.

“When people are united, the nation becomes strong. When the economy grows, people enjoy a better quality of life. Peace is preserved. When peace collapses, the economy suffers. When the economy is crippled, the future of the people becomes uncertain. Yet amid the storms sweeping across the world, we must be grateful for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon Malaysia, and especially Sabah where we continue to have peace, unity and harmonious living among people of different races and religions. Our children are still able to pursue their education, places of worship continue to flourish, communities continue to live in mutual respect, and the economy continues to move forward, creating hope.” Hajiji said at the Sabah State-Level Intellectual Discourse programme on 1 August 2026 at Wisma Muis, Kota Kinabalu.
