RM30,600 Aid to Flood-affected Residents

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor presented Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah (YKS) aid totalling RM30,600 on 3 August 2026 comprising RM300 cash each to 102 Heads of Household (Ketua Isi Rumah or KIR) affected by the recent floods in Tawau. The Tawau Municipal Council coordinated the distribution.

The Malaysia Civil Defence Force (Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia or APM), the Royal Malaysia Police, (Polis Diraja Malaysia or PDRM), the Fire and Rescue Department, Malaysia (Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia or JBPM), the Ministry of Health (MoH / Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia or KKM), and the Tawau District Disaster Management Committee assisted 362 persons comprising 217 adults, 109 children, 28 senior citizens, and eight infants to locate to the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at the Tawau Sports Complex Multipurpose Hall.
