Tuaran Moving Ahead With Devolopment

The District of Tuaran is progressing well in terms of development and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said the district must be at par with other districts. Hajiji – who is a native of Tuaran – said that the Sulaman constituency, of which he is the state representative, must continue to progress. Hajiji said that he is committed to develop all the four State Assembly constituencies in Tuaran – Sulaman, Pantai Dalit, Tamparuli and Kiulu - more so because it is the home district of the current Chief Minister.

“We have brought facilities and development to the people of Tuaran, including village roads and economic activities, and I am always looking for ways to help ensure that Tuaran is on the right track to progress,” Hajiji said on 11 August 2026 during the presentation of appointment letters to the Village Development and Security Committees (Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung or JKKK) for the Sulaman and Pantai Dalit constituencies for the 2026-2030 term, and the presentation of cash assistance to traders and hawkers.

“I am proud, honoured and humbled for the support of the people of Sulaman, who had continuously backed me for 36 years as their state representative, including the past five years as Chief Minister”. Forty-eight village chairpersons from the Sulaman constituency and 45 from Pantai Dalit received their appointment letters for the 2026-2030 term.

Hajiji said that community leaders – in addition to their main tasks of implementing development projects - must foster unity at the grassroots level. Community leaders must strengthen ties, organising gotong-royong, and holding regular meetings with committee members and with villagers, the CM added. Hajiji distributed RM3,000 cash to each of 200 petty traders and roadside hawkers.

“This is Sentuhan Kasih's cash assistance from me, the CM said. “Every year, we give assistance to the small traders because I care about their welfare. This year, I am giving RM3,000 each to 200 recipients in Sulaman and Pantai Dalit. This programme is also part of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development roadmap, which aims to improve the well-being of the people, and this is among the fundamental initiatives that we must implement.”
