State Library Adds a Space for Environmental Awareness
The State Library launches its American Green Corner in collaboration with the Embassy of United States of America, Kuala Lumpur, on 13 June 2024. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that the launching of the American Green Corner at the State Library in Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, is a testament to the fruitful collaboration between Malaysia and the United States of America. “We look forward to many more partnerships with the United States. This initiative signifies our collective commitment towards educational and environmental advancements," he said at the launch of the American Green Corner, “ Hajiji said.
Hajiji said that the American Green Corner will be another addition to hubs for learning, a place where the community can access a wealth of resources on environmental issues, sustainable practices, and the latest technologies. The hub will empower citizens, and especially the younger generation, to make a positive impact on our environment. The Chief Minister said the one of the state’s visions is investing in people and enhancing connectivity with a Green Approach. The American Green Corner initiative is in line with the government’s efforts in educating and disseminating information on sustainable business practices, helping local businesses and industries to adopt eco-friendly methods and contribute to a greener economy, Hajiji said.
