A Compassionate Leader

Remember, Our CM‘s Effort

Sabah was hit by one of the worst flooding and landslides in its history in the first week of September 2025, claiming 13 lives. On 12 September 2025, during the flood crisis, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor Hajiji visited places which were seriously affected by floods and landslides. On the following day, 13 September 2025, Hajiji visited the site of major landslides in Penampang which brought down a high-tension electrical tower and impacted power supply to the east coast of Sabah. On 14 September 2025, Hajiji chaired an emergency meeting with Sabah Electricity to handle the power supply issue.

On 15 September 2025, the CM visited victims of floods and landslides in Penampang and Putatan. Hajiji delivered necessities to them. Hajiji is a person of action. He delivers. Hajiji requested funding from the Federal Government and received RM10 million to handle natural disasters in Sabah which is an addition to the RM11 million allocated by the State Government for natural disasters.

On 17 September 2025, Hajiji visited Beaufort, Bongawan, Papar, Kinarut, and Penampang where landslides tragically took lives. Hajiji inspected damaged properties and infrastructures. Thereafter, Hajiji visited Inanam and Kota Kinabalu and among the severely impacted infrastructures were the housing areas at Country Heights and the Gaya Teachers' Training Institute, Kota Kinabalu. Sabah is bracing for the impact of weather transition from the southwest monsoon to the northeast monsoon.

Hajiji advises his rakyat that the monsoon seasons always bring with them intense thunderstorms and heavy rains. The CM assures that rescue personnel will be everywhere to assist. He advises his rakyat that climate change and global warming will affect weather patterns and said that people living in low-lying areas, hill slopes and rivers to always be on the alert. The Pacific Ocean cools off between October and November leading to high atmospheric moisture and extreme weather. The westerly southwest strong winds combined with a cyclonic low-pressure system in the Philippines have poured continuous heavy rains to Sabah.

Recall that in January 2022, Hajiji asked for – and received – about RM900,000 from the federal government to aid flood victims in Sabah. When a major fire destroyed houses in a village in Kudat in February 2022, Hajiji allocated RM2.4 million to the victims whose houses were destroyed by fire. Hajiji visits and gives necessities and cash assistance to any communities and villages impacted by natural disasters.

The opposition picks fights. Hajiji focusses on plights.
