CM and the English Language

A few postings in chat groups in social media kept harping on the issue of the Chief Minister being not fluent in English.

Yes, we agree that English is important and especially to be able to globally involve with businesses, economics, science, and cultural activities.

Sabah’s CM speaks English. That is acceptable and respectable. We do not need to be highly fluent in English or any language, except your own local language. President of the People’s Republic of China doesn’t converse in English. Yet, he can navigate and engage with world’s leaders.

"The ability to converse well in the English Language is good but it doesn’t define a leader if he or she can’t speak a word of it."
