The state government is preparing to celebrate Yayasan Sabah Group’s 60th anniversary next year. "Yayasan Sabah Group was established in 1966. Its educational assistance has transformed the lives of thousands of Sabahans,” Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said at the Yayasan Sabah with the People Roadshow (YBSR 2025) on 28 August 2025, at Tambunan.

"YS education mission is that no Sabahan child will be left behind in pursuing higher education opportunity simply because of financial constraints.” Yayasan Sabah Group has established the Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah (KTYS) and University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF), to provide educational platforms for students to pursue higher education.

The Group has rolled out the Sabah State Education Fund in 2022, spending RM17.8 million on 10,912 students in the past few years, mostly students from low-income families, and especially students whose parents are classified in the B40 economic group. Hajiji, who is also the Chairman of the Yayasan Sabah Board of Trustees, said the Yayasan Sabah Group is also recognised as a leader in conservation and environmental sustainability.

As of 2025, 199,146 hectares or 94.5 per cent of Yayasan Sabah Group's total conservation area of 210,725.6 hectares have been designated as Class 1 Forest Reserves (Protection) including Danum Valley, Maliau Basin, Imbak Canyon, Taliwas River and Silam Coastline.
