CM Orders Monitoring of Tawau Floods

The State Disaster Command Centre is closely monitoring the flood situation in Tawau, which was declared a disaster zone on 25 July 2026 following flooding in many parts of the district since 24 July 2026.

Several residential areas in Tanjung Batu Keramat, Taman Ria 1, Taman Hot Spring, Taman Sunshu, and Taman Sri Balung were inundated. Authorities were on standby for possible relocation of victims.

A temporary evacuation centre was opened at the Tawau Sports Complex Multi-Purpose Hall for 96 household heads and 335 people. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has instructed relevant agencies to deploy to the affected areas to be prepared to provide immediate assistance to victims.
